Results Analysis

With a very similar internal layout to the likes of the SilverStone Fortress FT02 and SilverStone Raven RV02, it wasn't surprising that the TJ11 cooled our hardware exceptionally well. It managed a CPU delta T of 43°C with the fans at low speed, and matched the super-cool delta T of 42°C the FT02 recorded when we set them at full speed.

the TJ11 fared well in the graphics card cooling test too, where it managed a delta T of 39°C with the Air Penetrator fans at low speed. At full speed, the result was an excellent delta T of 37°C - just 1°C off the fan-laden Cooler Master HAF-X and equal to that of the FT02R-W.

Conclusion

SilverStone Temjin TJ11 Review SilverStone TJ11 Results Analysis and ConclusionThe TJ11 is enormous, but to provide room for large radiators, there's little option but to increase the size of the case. Leaving water-cooling aside for a moment, the case felt a little clunky compared with the supremely elegant TJ07. Some of the panels didn't sit flush with their neighbours either, and the large holes in the side panels are a little unsightly.

However, none of this made the TJ11 anything less than sturdy and easy to work with, and we can't argue with the test results. The TJ11 will undoubtedly cool the hardware you choose not to water-cool extremely well.

The real reason you'd buy the TJ11 is for its potential to house a water-cooled PC, though, as the much cheaper Raven RV02 or Fortress FT02 will keep an air-cooled PC in check for much less cash. To that end, you can fit a quad 120mm-fan radiator in the base with room to spare.

There's ample room for reservoirs and pumps, and the pre-cut holes for routeing cables and tubes are useful too. There's even space for two PSUs to power your beast, and the master-slave connector to make doing so elegant.

Modification would undoubtedly make the TJ11 even better, but out of the box, the TJ07 definitely has better water-cooling potential, particularly for multiple cooling loops as there's the option for an additional radiator in the roof.

The price of the TJ11 is also a bitter pill to swallow. While SilverStone should be commended for making the TJ11 so great for air-cooling as well as being able to accommodate a potent water loop, the TJ11 actually isn't the most awesome case for water-cooling ever. Being only able to fit one loop by default (even if you do use a quad 140mm-fan radiator) left us underwhelmed, even if the TJ11 can be modded easily and has excellent air-cooling abilities. That's forgivable for something with a less prohibitive price tag, but not for a £475 case.
